Computer Explorers ‘Engineering with LEGO™' Camp

Monday- Friday, June 26th-30th

Half day camp from 1:00-5:30pm

For a full day camp adventure, also register for Science Matters morning camp from 8:30am-1:00pm!

Open to children in K-6th

Please send snacks and a lunch with your child to camp each day! Lunch will not be provided.

Registration is only open to NREL/DOE families until March 15th and then camps will be open to the public. Please register using your NREL/DOE email!

Engineering with LEGO™!

Explore basic engineering concepts while building simple machines from LEGO® Dacta kits. Each lesson develops the concepts of structures and forces, levers, wheels and axles, gears and pulleys through construction of Lego® plans.  Kids collaborate in teams of 2, as they exercise their understanding with creative challenges to solve. Projects include exploration of lever classes, a rotating sign, cars, even a dinosaur and amusement park ride! Let’s build with LEGO®.  Older students will engage with stepped up challenges, possibly including motorized systems.
