Spotlight on Sticky Fingers Cooking Chief Operating Officer Kim Douglas

October 10, 2024 by Emily Moore
  • What’s so impressive about our COO? Her efficiency is unmatched—everyone else is just trying to ketchup!

Meet Kimberly Douglas, the unstoppable force behind Sticky Fingers Cooking’s success and one of our longest-serving employees. For over 12 years, Kimberly has been at the heart of our company, transforming a kitchen-table idea into a flourishing national franchise. Her path is a potent reminder that with passion, dedication, and a willingness to grow, it’s possible to chart your own course to success.

Kimberly’s story at Sticky Fingers Cooking began with a love for cooking and a desire to make a difference. Starting as a chef instructor, she shared her culinary skills with children in Denver and Boulder. Her curiosity about the business side soon led her to manage the Denver/Boulder territories as the Area Director alongside CEO Erin Fletter. Kimberly leveraged her deep understanding of the company to propel those regions forward. Now, as Chief Operating Officer (COO), she oversees the company’s day-to-day operations and is actively involved in shaping its future.

Before moving to Denver, Kimberly gained invaluable experience in the fast-paced restaurant world while earning a degree in International Development from UCLA. After graduation, while working remotely for Sticky Fingers Cooking, she and her now husband set out on a one-year global adventure, visiting 30+ countries across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Americas. Their travels left Kimberly with incredible memories and a fondness for Asian soups (especially Khao Soi, Pho and any and all curry). She also developed new perspectives, a deep appreciation for all kinds of people, and a fierce ability to adapt and thrive in any situation—skills that have been instrumental to her success as COO.

Imagine finding a career that combines all your passions, just as Kimberly did when she settled in Denver and discovered Sticky Fingers Cooking. Her role goes beyond just managing the business; she’s deeply committed to empowering others. Kimberly trains and supports franchise owners, ensuring they understand the Sticky Fingers Cooking brand and feel confident and equipped to deliver high-quality, consistent experiences. She has helped define company policies and shape the strategies that have turned Sticky Fingers Cooking into a national franchise. Along the way, she’s helped countless others find their paths to success within the company.

Colleagues describe Kimberly as having contagious enthusiasm and an energy that lifts up everyone around her. She brings adventure and fun to everything she does, whether devising new business strategies or cooking her favorite Thai curry (Khao Soi) with her son. Her commitment to promoting healthy eating habits in children reflects a passion that drives every decision she makes.

This fall, as her child starts Kindergarten, Kimberly is heading back to school herself—to pursue an Executive MBA at CU Boulder. In doing so, she looks forward to growing her skills while inspiring others, especially women, to step confidently into leadership roles.

Go, Kimberly, go!
