Let's get this party started with two recipes that are celebratory and that are super Americana, shall we?!
It's been an especially tough time for kids, teachers and school personnel, and parents around our COVID globe. Something about a chocolate chip cookie makes things instantly better, if even for a moment. An ice cream float to wash it all down sweetens the deal in so many ways. Once kid chefs realize they can make a chocolate chip cookie in the microwave, it's pretty much game over. As a bonus, we will dive into the fantastic microcosm of all things vanilla, from how it's grown to the only bee in the world that can pollinate the vanilla orchid plant. Yep, vanilla is from an orchid!
Better yet, this mug recipe is even quicker than slicing cookies from a tube (with better ingredients, too). The YOU-WHO Double Vanilla Bubbly Ice Cream Floats are heaven in a glass and quite nostalgic for anyone in the USA over 49 years old.
It's fun (and important) to celebrate the small things, the big stuff, and everything in between. Cheers to anything and EVERYTHING you're celebrating this week! Thanks for cooking up some fun with us.
