SEPTEMBER 2019: A FUN-DA-MENTALS CLASS!
Supreme Sour Cream Cardamom Pear Cupcakes + Indian Sweetly Spiced Glaze + Chilled Chai Pear Lassi
These cupcakes are Supreme indeed. They bake up BIG and fluffy, with a strong hit of cardamom (pumpkin pie) spice and orange. The perfect hint to chillier weather ahead.
Do you love learning about what kids do in different countries as much as we do?? We love to spark our students curiosity with these recipes and the countries from where they’re inspired. Cupcakes weren’t invented in India, but cardamom originally came from wild plants located in the Western Ghats in Southern India. Plants grew so prolifically in this region that it eventually became known as “Cardamom Hills.” The flavors of cardamom and orange are magical together - and since pears are in season, we threw those in the mix, too!
We will focus on having fun preparing these cupcakes by practicing our kitchen skills with our students: sifting, whisking, and folding. Each of these baking skills is like riding a bike - once you’ve got it, you’ve got it for life. We hope you take these cupcakes for a ride with your family, in your kitchen.
