Our Cookbook Coverstar for our GLOBAL TASTE BUDS Cookbook is Dane!

 

How did you first get interested in cooking? 

Dane's Response: I love cooking with my mom and it’s fun for me to say I made something that people enjoy eating.

 

 

Your cookbook cover photo was taken during an online Sticky Fingers Cooking class where students made the Superbly Tasty Sweet ‘n Sour Thai Noodle Salad + Perky Pineapple Coolers recipe. What did you enjoy about that particular recipe? 

Dane's Response: I liked that it was something I would have never thought I would have liked and I did like it! I especially loved the drink, and everything was healthy.

 

We absolutely love the connection your photo makes with an audience. How did you come up with that winking photo? 

Dane's Response:It’s my personality to be funny and different. I was just trying the drink and it was amazing!!!

 

What is one of your favorite ingredients to cook with and why? 

Dane's Response: One of my favorite ingredients to use is chocolate chips because it makes everything taste way better, such as banana bread, cookies and pancakes.

 

Why do you think it’s important for kids to get involved in the kitchen? 

Dane's Response:I think it’s good for kids to cook because it gives them independence if they can make their own lunches and it gives their mom a break!

 

What advice would you give to young or aspiring chefs?

Dane's Response: Cook food so you can try new things! Always take one bite, even if you don’t think you’ll like something.

 

If you could have any cooking superpower, what would it be and why? 

Dane's Response:To be able to move my hands really fast so I could chop, whisk and stir really fast!

 

What's a favorite food pun or joke of yours? No joke can be too cheesy for us ;)

Dane's Response: Why did the duck go into the pantry? To grab a pack of "quackers!"

 

"If you could be any fruit or vegetable, what would you be and why?"

Dane's Response: I would be a cumquat because they taste terrible, so nobody would want to eat me and I would live forever!!
