Stephanie and Solomon Ko are bringing Sticky Fingers Cooking® to Orange County North, offering families an after-school option that doesn’t glow, beep, or require Wi-Fi. In class, kids learn by doing: measuring, mixing, tasting, and walking out proud of what they made.
Stephanie worked behind the scenes in Los Angeles television; Solomon moved from a family retail business into real estate. After a family health crisis shifted their priorities, they wanted their work to feel closer to family life—something they could build at home, for other families like theirs.
They discovered Sticky Fingers Cooking at a franchise expo in Los Angeles in 2024. At the time, their lives were already full—jobs, a toddler, a baby on the way, plus additional caregiving responsibilities. They didn’t need one more thing to juggle, but they just couldn’t shake the idea. “This business is about kids—and that’s my focus,” says Stephanie.
For Solomon, the idea of kids exploring new foods hits home. He immigrated to the United States from South Korea as a child and remembers bringing traditional Korean lunches to school; the food he loved made him feel conspicuous when classmates didn’t recognize it. Stephanie grew up on Mexican food with a mom who loved cooking so much she’d make different meals for each of her four kids. (Now that’s love!)
Together, the Kos love the idea of kids building confidence with food—trying new flavors, sharing what they’ve made, and feeling proud of what ends up on their plate.
