Since joining Sticky Fingers Cooking in 2014, Katie Brennan has been indispensable. She’s the strategic force that ensures operations run seamlessly, making Sticky Fingers Cooking the best kid-focused hospitality company we can be.
Katie’s early efforts in standardizing processes laid the groundwork for the company’s growth. Now, she helps manage the Colorado Team and works with new franchise owners, focusing on training, logistics, and continuous improvement. Her days are packed with collaboration and problem-solving—the things she loves most.
Katie, known to everyone as the “future problem solver,” earned her nickname (with an award!) in the 4th grade. She lives up to it every day, devising ways to make things run more smoothly and anticipating needs. In the words of one teammate (and echoed by many), “Give to Katie – it’ll get done quickly and well!”
When asked how she balances her professional responsibilities with being the mom to two adolescents, Katie pauses and confesses (with that characteristic twinkle in her eye and big, warm smile) that she imagines she could be better at both. She’s grateful to have been able to work from home all these years since she can more easily integrate both worlds and still find time to exercise.
As a parent of a so-called “picky eater,” Katie finds truth in the company motto, “If they make it, they’ll try it!” Involving her kids in food preparation helped them feel more comfortable trying new foods. “I love when parents come to me with similar success stories – that something clicked for their kid in one of our classes, and now it’s a whole new ballgame.”
Katie proudly shares that her son Jack (12) just prepared a taco dinner for his grandmother! Her daughter Bridget (14) recently organized a smoothie bowl experience with friends at a pool – each friend contributed a topping. (Sounds like these apples didn’t fall far from the tree…!)
Katie dreams of making Sticky Fingers Cooking accessible to kids everywhere, and she sees a bright future for the company. She’s excited to tackle the latest curveballs and find the best ways to scale solutions. “I’ve learned the value of being a responsible and reliable coworker, how to collaborate without controlling, and how to be a flexible and adaptable leader,” she reflects. “I love Sticky Fingers Cooking. I love what we do. And I’m excited to do more of it!”
Us, too, Katie. Thanks for everything you do!
