White Bean Cilantro Hummus + Kid-made Cilantro Flatbread+ Ultra Vanilla “Bean” Smoothies

My husband Ryan, and our three daughters go through hummus like water. Is this normal? Can you overdose on hummus? Hmmm...

I wrote a Sticky Fingers Cooking hummus recipe this week even more kid-friendly and allergy-friendly by swapping the garbanzo beans for mild white beans. It is an uncommon hummus base ingredient, to be sure, but many people that are allergic to peanuts are also allergic to garbanzo beans. And beans are arguably one of the most nutritious foods out there! Many Americans rarely eat them, which is a shame, since beans are the only food that counts as both a vegetable and a meat substitute because of their diverse nutrients. They'll add fiber, protein, iron, and potassium to your family's diet. White beans in a Smoothie??You bet! Give it a GO and enjoy!
