Kid Chef Choice Zany Stuffed Fresh Spring Rolls + Crispy Crazy Potstickers + Soy Ginger Drizzle + Ginger Hibiscus Punch

We developed the concept of Cool-inary Confidence Classes based on lots of feedback from our Chef Instructors and observation in the classroom with our students. Kids love it when they’re given creative liberty to execute art projects, and cooking is no different!

For this recipe, we’re cooking recipes from China - spring rolls and potstickers are great because the options for filling are endless. We’ve chosen a base of mushrooms, cabbage, and garlic as a starting point. Beyond that, have your kids individually choose what else goes into their filling and how they’re going to season their own dipping sauce. We’ve given you a framework for the recipe; use it as it’s written or change it up as you see fit for your family.

We find that sauteing the mushrooms and cabbage with garlic first provides a delicious base. You could also saute the rest of the veggies, or leave them raw. We’ve also given you a base sauce recipe to make that allows for your kids to finish it by adding green onion, sesame seeds, and/or ginger. You could also give them creative freedom to make their own sauce from scratch. In other words, you do not have to follow these recipes exactly as they are written. Have your family make decisions based in creativity and exploration. This is your recipe to change, adapt - have fun with!!
