Deliciously Simple Fluffy Cinnamon Roll Dutch Baby a La Mode  + Coco-loco Drizzle + Cinn-a-Yummy Cozy Cocoa

Kids in the Kitchen! Recipe Ketch-up!

Welcome back to the kitchen! It’s a fresh year and we’re excited for you and your kid chefs to whip up some fresh and cozy flavors starting with this sweet treat. What do you get when you pair one of the most well-known Swedish pastries with a lesser known American invention that was inspired by a German pancake? This mug cake has all the flavors and texture of a cinnamon roll and dutch baby combined. A traditional dutch baby looks like a giant popover. It’s not possible to make a true popover in the microwave - we tried! -  but the end result is slightly custard-y in the center like a true Dutch Baby. We encourage your kid chefs decide how much cinnamon they want to add to their drink and use this opportunity to teach them about this amazing spice. Cinnamon regulates blood sugar and is anti-inflammatory and super for the immune system, which is so helpful now during cold/flu season. Hi Families! Please prep larger fruits and vegetables for younger kids (cut veggies into quarters, for example). Also: for younger kid chefs, please pre-measure, open all cans and discard the metal lids prior to class. This class requires a microwave! Makes 1-2 servings

ALLERGY SUBSTITUTIONS (for those items in red with a *)

BUTTER: Sub vegan butter alternative (such as Earth Balance) or olive oil

COCONUT: Sub heavy cream OR full-fat yogurt or dairy-free yogurt

ICE CREAM: Sub non-dairy ice cream or your favorite sorbet

GLUTEN (FLOUR): Sub gluten-free flour blend with xanthan gum
