Welcome back to the kitchen! It’s a fresh school year and we’re excited for you and your kid chefs to whip up some fresh and cozy flavors starting with this sweet treat.
What do you get when you pair one of the most well-known Swedish pastries with a lesser-known American invention that was inspired by a German pancake? This mug cake has all the flavors and texture of a cinnamon roll and dutch baby pancake combined. A traditional dutch baby looks like a giant popover. It’s not possible to make a true popover in the microwave - we tried! - but the end result is slightly custardy in the center like a true Dutch Baby. We encourage your kid chefs to decide how much cinnamon they want to add to their drink and use this opportunity to teach them about this amazing spice. Did you know that cinnamon regulates blood sugar and is anti-inflammatory and super for the immune system, which is so helpful now during cold/flu season. ENJOY this recipe, stay healthy, welcome back to school, and thank you so much for joining our COOLinary Cooking Club!
